WHY SPORT EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT?
We have developed executive programmes to cater to the working adults in the sport and sport related industry and our objectives are:
- Help our current people working in the industry to upgrade their skills to further improve the industry.
- Helping our athletes, coaches, trainers, officials, amongst others:
- Ensure employability after competitions.
- Ensure a life-long learning.
- Extending their career life span into administration & management.
Our athletes just fade away after their competitive and competition days are over. It will be a big waste not to engage them and bring them into the sports industry as sport administrators, sport management, sport marketing or in some capacity related to sports. Letting them fade away is total waste of talents which cannot be earned overnight.
EMPLOYMENT SKILLS MATCHING AND NOT MIS-MATCHING
If a person wants to be an architect, he/she will have to go to architectural school to earn his qualification. Like-wise if one wants to be a doctor, one must go to medical school to earn his medical qualification.
So, if one wants to work in the sports industry, thus sport education is the most appropriate programme one must pursue.
WHO WILL YOU CHOOSE IN A TREE CLIMBING COMPETITION?
We have developed over 12 executive certificate programmes to prepare participants who are interested to embark a career in the exciting and challenging career in the sports and sports related industry.
HOW CAN THESE PROGRAMMES HELP?
Malaysia is a sport’s “POWERHOUSE” in the region. As a country, she has won over 1400 Gold Medals in the SEA Games, over 60 Gold Medals in the Asian Games, over 55 Gold Medals in the Commonwealth Games and over 12 medals in the Olympic Games through the years. Other achievements include 5 times Thomas Cup wins, World titles or Gold Medals in Squash, Badminton, Bowling, Wushu, Diving, only South East Asian country to qualified for the Olympic Games in Football and Hockey and more.
Hosted several major sporting events such as the Commonwealth Games, Thomas & Uber Cup, Formula One Racing, MotorGP Race, FIH World Cup and even the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
This has shown, Malaysia has the country to go far. If athletes, coaches, officials, trainers, and others 2nd career after competitive and competition days are taken care of, not only can the country go far but will go further.
We believe our sport education programmes will help to prepare, transform and help transition from competitions to a new sports career in administration and management aspect.
Such transition and transformation will help to build a sport eco-system within the infrastructure that will further transform it into a sport economy. Having the right people managing and running the sport infrastructure and sport industry trained in sport education is key and will play a very important roles for the country.
Our research and engagement with the industry through the years have pointed in one direction, we need people to be trained in sport education to help build our sports industry. Thus, we have put together a programmes that not only will it help to train and prepare participants, it will also help us to become a sporting nation in the foreseeable future, leading to a Sports Eco-System, Sports Culture and having a Sports DNA in the system.
