PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN SPORT BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
The Sport Business Management course integrates underpinning knowledge and industry practice. The programme will help you to develop your ability to think strategically, apply the principles and concepts of business, sport management in local & international context and construct solutions to the sport management matters.
This course consists of 6 modules:
- Sport Management (20 hours)– is designed to provide a foundation of key skills and competencies to support executives needed in the sport industry. It covers the introduction to management, sport business management, management functions and the future of sport business.
- Sport Governance (20 hours)– provides a comprehensive guide to the practical application of governance principles to amateur and professional sport organizations operating at the community, state/provincial, national, and international levels. It presents a balanced view between accepted practice (20 hours)e and what contemporary research evidence tells us about a range of governance principles and practices.
- Sport Marketing (20 hours)– The business of sports is expected to generate billions of dollars through sport marketing, sport merchandising, ticketing) is due to the growth and demand. Organizations in the business of sport are also seeking to hire personnel with sports related background and qualifications in sport marketing.
- Sport & Event Management (20 hours)– This module is designed to provide a foundation of the sport and event management and its planning process. It will enhanced the professional skills and knowledge base of those already employed within the sport industry and into the areas of sport event management. It also to serve as a platform for people wishing to pursue a career in the exciting and dynamic field of event management.
- Sport Advertising & Public Relations (20 hours)– plays a major roles in generating billions of dollars for the games. This module integrates underpinning knowledge and industry practice in the area of sport advertising & sport public relations. It will give you a good understanding why and how advertising and public relations plays a strategic role in helping to generate revenue for the game. It also helps to develop your ability to think strategically, apply the principles and concepts into your work.
- Organization Management is Sport (20 hours)– this module provide key important management functions in the within organization, training & development, organizational culture, organizes all relevant resources, processes and functions, exercised a policy of human resources development, recruitment or staff, dealing with volunteer and designing volunteerism programmes and key major departments important to the organization.
Participants will be issue a Certificate of Achievement for completion of each individual module from APSI. Upon successful completion of the 6 modules, participants will be awarded a double Professional Diploma in Sport Business Management from University of Malaya and APSI.
PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN SPORT EDUCATION FOR COACHES
The Sport Education for Coaches course integrates the soft-skills and knowledge of the coaching profession. The programme will help you to develop your ability to think strategically as a coach and welfare of your athletes, trainees amongst. This course consists of 6 modules:
- Sport Management (20 hours)– is designed to provide a foundation of key skills and competencies to support executives needed in the sport industry. It covers the introduction to management, sport business management, management functions and the future of sport business.
- Sport Governance (20 hours) – provides a comprehensive guide to the practical application of governance principles to amateur and professional sport organizations operating at the community, state/provincial, national, and international levels. It presents a balanced view between accepted practice (20 hours) and what contemporary research evidence tells us about a range of governance principles and practices.
- Sports Leadership (20 hours)– leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done and they help themselves and others to do the right thing through many different skills. Good leadership skills are important for a coach of athletes of any age because after their parents their coach is the biggest influence that they have, if a coach is seen to be a good, strong leader, it will inspire them to work harder to get to where they want.
- Sports Safety in Coaching (20 hours)– for all sports, achieving personal goals and claiming sweet victory requires training hard and playing even harder. But when athletes push themselves too hard, they risk injury that can make them unable to play the game they love. That is why sports safety is so important. While we helped athletes get better from sports injuries, sports medicine team wants to do our part in helping prevent sports injuries in the first place.
- Ethics & Responsibilities in Coaching (20 hours)– a code of ethics is a tool that establishes minimum standards. It sets a code of conduct for coaches as they advance in their careers. It’s a tool that inspires coaches to share shared beliefs and do their best work. The responsibilities of a coach: A responsibility can be defined as: – the things a coach must consider in order to carry out their role effectively.
- Effective Communication for Coaches (20 hours)– effective communication is one of the most written about, most studied, and most talked about topics in the coaching world. “It’s not what you tell them – it’s what they hear.” I have that quote from Red Auerbach inscribed in the coaching book I carry regarding his take on the importance of effective communication. No amount of knowledge of the sport will matter if the coach is not able to find the proper method of delivery.
Participants will be issue a Certificate of Achievement for completion of each individual module from APSI. Upon successful completion of the 6 modules, participants will be awarded a double Professional Diploma in Sport Education for Coaches from Universiti of Malaya and APSI.
